I'm really struggling to figure out what I want.
Been going back and forth between the Macbook Air 13 with i7, or 13" macbook pro retina, and i5 2.6.

Everything I've been reading, watching suggests that the air is nearly as powerful as the macbook pro.

I don't plan on doing a ton of gaming, but should I change my mind that would be something to consider. From what I've read, you can get decent frame rates with the macbook air in games like minecraft, diablo 3, battlefield 3, etc. The main difference between the two laptops I could find with regards to gaming is the difference between the Intel HD 5000, and the newer slightly faster Intel Iris 5100.

As for CPU, the numbers don't lie in benchmarks, even though the MbA has a clock speed of 1.7, compared to the MbP's 2.6, they're very similar in benchmarks.

AHHHHHHH I hate making decisions lol

Depends on your primary usage.

Gaming is secondary and would be better suited for the i5 since most games don't use more than 2 cores at a time.

At this point, if I configure the air the way I want, it costs almost the same as base macbook pro. I think I'll end up getting the 13" MBP, with 256 gig as I know for my usage 128 is way to small.. HOpefully they will have upgradable PCIE flash cards like early 2013 mbp models. One of the companys said they planned on having something in Q1 of 2015. I can get a 720gig for like 400 bucks.
